The Village of Addison takes pride in being an affordable community to both visits and call home. Addison is also home to twenty percent of all DuPage County manufacturing operations, including Pampered Chef and major operating facilities for UPS and Nabisco. The village is just 12 miles from O'Hare International Airport, 20 miles west of Chicago's Loop, and convenient to major highways and mass transportation.
Addison offers a wealth of shopping options. Five of the village's six major shopping centers can be found along Lake Street, the village's primary commercial artery.
The village is also close to Oakbrook Center and Woodfield Mall, and it is also convenient to Chicago's shopping district.
The Addison Center for the Arts features performing and visual arts. It also offers quality art programs for self-exploration, skill development and aesthetic awareness.
The Addison Park District includes 25 parks representing a total of about 284 acres of green space, along with two community recreation centers, an enriching preschool program, a vibrant senior center, an outdoor family aquatic center, a state-of-the-art fitness club with an indoor pool, and a four-season golf facility.
Built in the 1920s, Oak Meadows Golf Course is an 18-hole tree-lined classic and one of the most historically significant courses in Chicago's golf community.
K1 Speed's amusement center features two go-kart race tracks and CyberSport, a hybrid combination of lacrosse, basketball and hockey. The facility offers dining and catering options for groups up to 700.
Stardust Bowl is the largest bowling center in Illinois and one of the largest in the country. In addition to 84 lanes, the center includes four lounges, a diner, billiard room, game room and full-service pro shop.
The Addison Historical District runs along Army Trail Boulevard, east of Kennedy Drive. It includes St. Paul Lutheran Church, the Addison Century House, and the Addison Historical Museum, as well as three historically significant memorials.
